DropBox is one of the most wanted and popular Online Stogare Solution which helps us to keep files across multiple Computer, either on Windows or in Mac OS X in Sync. While the team has released DropBox 1.0 RC for Mac OS X, Windows, and Linux after the first beta hit the Tubes, more than two years ago.
This DropBox 1.0 contain several Bug fixes, Performace Improvements and shopuld consume less CPU resources than the previous DropBox Beta version.
DropBox 1.0 RC comes with the best features, which include Selective Sync, so that we can even instruct DropBox to keep ceratin file Folders in the Cloud only and not to Download them to our Computer Hard Drive. If you want to know more about How to Setup “Selective Syncing Folder” in Windows & Mac, please.
For Example :- If you have 250 MB of files on your Computer “A” which you only want to Backup Online and not to Sync across Computers, then you may configure Selective Sync on Computer “B” and that particular file won’t Download on the Second Computer and also save you plenty of Sapce and Bandwidth too.
With this DropBox 1.0, you are now going to Share even non-public Folders on DropBox with anyone outside. Just right-click on the File in Windows Explorer and choose “Get Shareable Link” to get a secure “HTTPS” short link powered by db.tt that anyone may use to access that file.
But, in the DropBox “Watch Any Folder” feature is missing in DropBox 1.0, while that was a bit disappoint, eventhough it was in the initial plan as per the Votebox, which means you can still have to copy your files to the “My DropBox” folder to keep them in Sync.
I have not using this DropBox v.0.8.x, but my friends used this for some time on Windows 7 and have found it to be stable.
You can Download this DropBox 1.0 Release Candidate from DroBox Forums, and your DropBox will auto-update once 1.0 final is available.
