Registry Hack on Windows 8 Build 7850 – Ribbon UI in Windows 8 Build 7850 Windows Explorer has been Activated and Enabled with a small Registry Hack by NaiveUser, a member of MyDigitalLife. Not only Enabled Ribbon UI, but also Enabled Windows 8 M1 Webcam, Modern Reader Too.

What is Ribbon UI – a ribbon is an interface where a set of toolbars are placed on tabs in a tab bar and recently released Microsoft Applications, has integrated with this form with the Modular Ribbon as their main Interface.
Actually, Ribbon GUI provides the user interface of an application with a large toolbar filled with graphical representations of control elements which are grouped by different functionality. The Ribbon can also contain tabs to expose different sets of control elements eliminating the need for a lot of different icon-based tool bars.
This Windows 8 Build 7850 leaked version sports a Modern Reader, TaskUI, Ribbon UI and webcam. Earlier we reported that the Modern Task Manager was disabled and can be enabled via registry tweak.
How to Activate Ribbon UI Windows Explorer in Windows 8 Build 7850 :
“OK. This may be my last work on M1 but I managed to get Explorer Ribbon working, here it is
create such a key in registry: HKEY_CLASS_ROOT\CLSID\{4F12FF5D-D319-4A79-8380-9CC80384DC08}
create a string value in this key called “AppID”, set its value to “{9198DA45-C7D5-4EFF-A726-78FC547DFF53}”
now start a new explorer window have to fireup visual studio to get this one right, phew. http://tinypic.com/r/2e2m05v/7”
Now simply restart explorer and you should have the ribbon UI unlocked.
Unlock “Modern Reader”:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Applets\Paint\Capabilities
create a string value named “CLSID”, set its value to “{D3E34B21-9D75-101A-8C3D-00AA001A1652}” , then run glcnd.exe.
Unlock TaskUI:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\TaskUI,
and create a 32bit value “TaskUIEnabled”, set its value to “1″.
To unlock webcam.exe:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\GRE_Initialize\
create a DWORD value called “RemoteFontBootCacheFlags”, set its value to 0x100f (4111)
